CASS Summary Report

The CASS Summary Report is CASS form 3553. This form verifies to the Post Office that your data has been coded using CASS-certified software, which is a requirement for claiming many discounted postage rates. Form 3553 must accompany your mail to the Post Office to receive these discounts.

Configuring the CASS tool to return a CASS Report:

  1. Specify the Address, City, State, and ZIP Code fields of the input database.

  2. Click on the Tab, US CASS Report

  3. Fill in the appropriate information that will complete the CASS Form 3553:

    1. Processor Name: Name of user submitting report. Populates section (B1) of the form.

    2. List Name: Name of the list as specified by the Processor. Populates section (B4) of the form.

    3. Name, Company, Address, City, State and ZIP Populates section (D3) of the form.

    4. CASS Report File: Specify the directory to write the resulting CASS Form 3553 to.

The contents of CASS form 3553 are defined below.

A. Software

Alteryx auto-populates this section with the CASS-Certified Software vendor and version information used to generate the form.

The following items are auto-populated:A1, A2, A3, A10, A11, A12

B. List

Alteryx auto-populates this section with the CASS engine database vintages, list information, and user specified data.

The following items are auto-populated: B1, B2a, B2e, B3a, B3d, B4, B5, B6

C. Output

Alteryx auto-populates this section with the summarized output of the CASS process. The contents of this section will vary based on the data sent through the engine and the engine's vintage.

The following items are auto-populated: C1a, C1d, C1e, C1f, C2a, C2d, C2e, C2f

ZIP + 4/DPV Confirmed: Returns the number of records verified as matches to the ZIP+4 level and the validation period in which these records are good for.

5 - Digit Coded: Returns the number of records verified to the 5-digit Carrier Route level and the validation period in which these records are good for.

CRRT Coded: Returns the number of records verified to the Carrier Route level and the validation period in which these records are good for.

eLOT Assigned: Returns the number of records assigned to an enhanced Line of Travel sequence number and the validation period in which these records are good for.

D. Mailer

Mailer Signature and Date Signed are to be completed by the Mailer.

The D3 section is auto-populated with the information supplied in Step 3 of the Configuration Properties explained above

 

E. Qualitative Statistical Summary (QSS)

QSS is solely made available for the list processor's review and analysis. This information is not to be considered by the Postal Service™ personnel in determining rate eligibility.

Alteryx returns and reports counts of input records that meet the following:

High Rise Default: Returns the number of High Rise records that were default matched. Default matching occurs when the address is successfully matched at the street address level but cannot be matched to a valid secondary address.

High Rise Exact: Returns the number of High Rise records that were exactly matched to both a primary and secondary address.

RR Default: Returns the number of Rural Route address records that were default matched. Default matches are verified at the route number level but not matched to a valid primary range.

RR Exact: Returns the number of Rural Route address records that were verified at the route number and also matched to a valid primary range.

LacsLink: Returns the number of address records flagged as having undergone a conversion from rural to city-style addresses.

EWS: : Returns the number of address records that did not appear in the US Postal Service ZIP+4 file but were valid addresses.
