Tool Categories
Click and drag a tool from the Tool Palette on to the workflow canvas to begin building a workflow. Connect tools by clicking an output anchor and dragging the connector arrow to the next tool's input anchor. See Tool Palette and Build Workflows.
By default, Favorites includes tools frequently used when building a workflow. You can add additional tools to the Favorites category by clicking the gray star next to a tool. A yellow star indicates the tool is already added to the Favorites category.
Deprecated Tools
As improvements to Alteryx are implemented, some tools become obsolete and are deprecated. Workflows created with these tools in previous versions will still be able to function.
Alteryx recommends updating workflows to use applicable new replacement tools as no resources will be allocated to support the older tools. Alteryx may remove deprecated tools after two major releases.
To show deprecated tools, right-click tool palette and select Show Deprecated Tools. Deprecated tools display with a "Deprecated" banner.
