2021.2

New Features

New Intelligence Suite Tools

The Alteryx Intelligence Suite now has Computer Vision tools. Use them to input, process, analyze, and then output images using Designer.

Licensing Update for Versions 11.7 and Older

As of the 2021.1 release, you can no longer upgradedirectly from version 11.7 or older to version 2021.1 or newer.

If you are on version 11.7 or older and want to upgrade to 2021.1 or newer, you must first upgrade to version 20.4 or older. Then you can upgrade to 2021.1 or newer.

Separate Installer for Alteryx Intelligence Suite

Alteryx Intelligence Suite tools are no longer included in the Alteryx Designer installation. You can download and install these tools separately from the Alteryx Downloads and Licences portal. Keep in mind that Intelligence Suite tools require a separate license key.

Data Cleansing via the Results Grid

You can now perform data cleansing actions directly in the Results grid and apply these actions to your workflow via a preconfigured Data Cleanse tool. We also made some user interface updates to the Results grid to better organize the Data Cleanse, Filter, and Sort options.

Convert to Macro

You now have the option to convert an existing workflow (or a portion of the workflow) to a macro. Select multiple tools, right-click, and select Convert to Macro from the dropdown menu. Visit Convert to Macro to read about important limitations and additional instructions.

Specify a Predictive Tools Code Page per Workflow

You can now specify a Predictive Tools Code Page on a per-workflow basis via the Runtime tab of Workflow Configuration. This code page overrides the default Predictive Tools Code Page setting in Localization User Settings and ensures that if you share your workflow, it continues to use the designated code page.

Phonetic Sort Support for Kanji Characters

We added phonetic sort support for Kanji characters. This setting affects the sorting method of the Results window, the Sort tool, Select tool (and other tools that use the select functionality). This sort method does not affect the Tool Palette.

  • Gojūon is the default sort method for Japanese.

  • Pinyin is the default sort method for Simplified Chinese.

  • Dictionary order is the default sort method for English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

You can customize this setting via the Localization User Settings.

R Upgrade

We upgraded R to 4.0.4 from 3.6.3.

SharePoint Files

We added 2 new tools to the Connectors category in Designer. Use SharePoint Files Input and SharePoint Files Output tools to connect Designer with your SharePoint site.
