Super administrators (username: admin) can back up the Alteryx Connect H2 database from the Administration Console. This creates a backup.zip file of the Alteryx Connect database and saves it to the ac_work directory. The backup can then be used to restore the Alteryx Connect database.
Back Up
- Log in to Alteryx Connect with super administrator credentials (username: admin).
- Select your icon in the top-right of the screen and select Administration.
- From the Admin Menu, select Export and Import, then select Export.
- In the Database backup section, select H2 Backup.
A file called h2backup.zip is created and placed in the ac_work directory. The file contains data.mv.db.
Restore
Restoring the H2 database overwrites the existing database files.
- Copy the h2backup.zip file to the ac_work directory.
- Stop the Alteryx Connect service:
- Open the Windows Task Manager.
- On the Services tab, select Services.
- In the list of services, select Alteryx Connect.
- Select Stop and leave the Services window open.
- Unzip the backup file to replace the database files in the ac_work directory.
- In the Services window, select Start to restart the Alteryx Connect service.
- Perform a full reindex of the database to complete the restoration:
- Log in to Alteryx Connect.
- Select your icon in the top-right of the screen and select Administration.
- From the Admin Menu, select Maintenance, then select Reindex.
- Select Full Re-index. In case you do not perform the full reindex, the Connect home page will not be displayed.
