Use the Machine Learning Send tool to create or update existing projects in Alteryx Machine Learning.

Tool Components

The Machine Learning Send tool has 1 anchor.

  • Input anchor: The input anchor connects to the data you want to upload to Alteryx Machine Learning. 

Download the Tool

To use the Machine Learning Send tool in Designer, download and install the Alteryx Machine Learning Designer Integration Tools. Go to the downloads page, then Alteryx Intelligence Suite > Alteryx Intelligence Suite (your Designer version) > Alteryx Machine Learning Designer Integration Tools. The integration tools are separate from the tools included in Alteryx Intelligence Suite.

You must have Designer 21.3 or higher installed to use the Machine Learning Send tool.

Configure the Tool

Connect to Alteryx Machine Learning

  1. Enter the URL you use to access your Alteryx Machine Learning account.
  2. Select Sign In.

If you see Sign In Using SSO

  1. You don’t need to complete additional steps unless you're using Server and Data Connection Manager (DCM).
    1. If you're using Server and DCM, follow these steps to enable DCM and configure your data sources.
  2. Once you're successfully connected to your account, the tool displays an "Authentication Verified" message.
  3. To change credentials, select Change Credentials.

If you see Sign in Using Trifacta Token

  1. First, you need to create an access token if you don’t already have one. Follow these steps to create one from the platform home page.
  2. Next, add a new data source in the Connection Manager. The Connection Manager should appear after you enter the URL for the first time.
    1. To open the Connection Manager, go to File > Manage Connections.
  3. Select + Add Data Source.
  4. Enter a Data Source Name.
  5. Under Technology, select Trifacta Auth if not already selected.
  6. Select Save.
  7. Within your new data source page under Connections, select Access Token under Authentication Method.
  8. Check the Allow connection for SDK box.
  9. Under Credential, select your authorization credential.
  10. If you don’t have an authorization credential, select Create New Credential.
    1. Enter a Credential Name.
    2. Enter your Access Token from step 1.
  11. Select Create and Link.
  12. Select Link.
  13. Once you are successfully connected to your account, the tool displays an "Authentication Verified" message.
  14. To change credentials, select Change Credentials.

Project Creation

  • To create a new project, select Create New Project:
    • Enter a Name and Description for the new project.
    • Select Run to upload the new project to Alteryx Machine Learning.
  • To upload data to an existing project, select Upload to Existing
    • Check the project you want to upload data to from the list. You can search for a specific project using the search bar or the filter options from the menu.

    • Select Run to upload the data to the existing project in Alteryx Machine Learning.

Uploading new data to an existing project resets it and overwrites the data that already exists for that project.
