Set Up Ask Alteryx
Connect Ask Alteryx
Connect Ask Alteryx to Alteryx One from the chat window in Designer Desktop. If you've closed the Ask Alteryx chat window, go to View and then select Ask Alteryx to open it.
From the Ask Alteryx chat window, select Start. If the window isn’t open, go to View and then select Ask Alteryx.
Select your Alteryx One workspace from the Available Workspaces dropdown, if it's not already selected. To add a different Alteryx One workspace...
Go to File > Manage Connections > Alteryx Links.
Select New and then select your cloud instance (for example, select United States if your URL starts with
us1).Sign in to Alteryx One and then select the workspace you want to use.
Follow the on-screen prompts and then you can select the new workspace from Ask Alteryx.
Select Continue to begin your chat with Ask Alteryx.
Access Controls for Admins
The Workspace Admin can limit access to Ask Alteryx at the user role level and Data Awareness at the workspace level.
Ask Alteryx User Access
If you are on a Professional or Enterprise Edition, Ask Alteryx is available to all users with the Basic or Full User role assigned to them by default. To limit user access to Ask Alteryx, create a custom role without the Ask Alteryx capability enabled and then assign that role to your users. Learn more about roles and capabilities.
Data Awareness Workspace Access
To limit how Ask Alteryx can sample data for all users on a workspace, disable Data Awareness from the Workspace Settings Page:
From Alteryx One, select Profile menu > Workspace Admin > Settings.
Go to AI > Ask Alteryx > Ask Alteryx Data Access.
Select Disabled from the dropdown. Changes to workspace settings save automatically.
