Private Data Storage
Use private data storage to configure your workspace to replace the default file store with your cloud storage provider.
Alteryx One provides file storage as part of the application. You can use the file store in these cases:
Upload a file to use as an input dataset.
Download a file created as a job output.
Store a sample of data generated by a user at design time.
Temporary storage used during some processing jobs.
Private data storage is available for all workspaces in Alteryx One and you must configure it before you can set up private data processing.
Important
After Private Data Storage is configured for a workspace, the workspace cannot be reverted to Alteryx Data Storage.
If you need to use Alteryx Data Storage in the future, create a new workspace, which is configured to use Alteryx Data Storage by default.
Warning
Configure Private Data Storage only in a new workspace that does not contain existing assets stored in Alteryx Data Storage.
When a workspace is switched from Alteryx Data Storage to Private Data Storage, existing assets that were previously stored in Alteryx Data Storage remain in Alteryx Data Storage and are no longer accessible through the workspace. These assets can become orphaned and cannot be managed or deleted through the workspace.
Before enabling Private Data Storage, ensure that any required assets are migrated or otherwise addressed according to your organization's data management policies.
Failure to do so might result in data retention and compliance issues, including challenges meeting data deletion requirements under regulations such as GDPR.
