Alteryx can check to make sure the version you are running is the latest version. If there is an update to the program, you will be notified based on the preference that is set.

Auto Check

If you are connected to the internet, each time Alteryx launches it checks if there is a newer version available for download. If a newer version is available, a message appears at the top of the GUI, with an Options button. Options include...

  • Go to Download Site: The Alteryx Downloads and Licenses portal opens in a browser window. Sign in to download the latest version.
  • Hide until next run: Message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx. Once a new instance is launched, the message reappears.
  • Hide this for 1 days: Message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx. Message reappears when Alteryx is launched on the next calendar day.
  • Hide this for 7 days: Message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx. Message reappears when Alteryx is launched 7 calendar days from the current day.
  • Hide this for 30 days: Message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx. Message reappears when Alteryx is launched 30 calendar days from the current day.
  • Hide this for 90 days: Message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx. Message reappears when Alteryx is launched 90 calendar days from the current day.
  • Hide this for 1 year: Message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx. Message reappears when Alteryx is launched 1 calendar year from the current day.

If you are running a Beta version, the only "Hide" option is Hide until next run.

Manual Check

To check for an update at any time go to Help > Check for Updates. This feature requires an internet connection. One of 3 messages is returned:

  • New Version Available: A newer version of Alteryx is available. Select OK to be taken to the download site.
  • Up to date: This Version of Alteryx is up to date. Select OK to close the message box.
  • An error occurred checking for the latest version: Unable to connect to the remote server. This means you are not connected to the internet, therefore you cannot use this feature.
