IBM DB2 (ODBC) Connections
You can use the IBM DB2 (ODBC) connector to read data from and write data to IBM DB2 databases in Alteryx One.
This connector is built on the Unified connector framework and uses an Alteryx-managed ODBC driver. No local driver installation is required.
Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
Driver installation | The driver is provided by Alteryx One. No separate installation is required. |
Connection Type | ODBC |
Support | Read and Write |
Authentication | Basic Authentication |
Prerequisites
Before creating the connection:
Make sure that Alteryx One can access the DB2 server.
Add the required Alteryx service IP addresses to your allowlist, if applicable.
Obtain a DB2 username and password with the required database permissions.
Configure the Connection
To create a connection:
In Alteryx One, go to Data > New Connection.
Search for and select IBM DB2.
Configure the connection and credential properties.
Select Test Connection.
After the connection test succeeds, select Create.
Connection Details
Once the connection is created, enter the following details in the appropriate fields:
Connection Name: Display name for the connection in Alteryx One.
Connection Description: Optional description of the connection.
Server: Hostname or IP address of the DB2 server.
Port: Port used by the DB2 service. A commonly used default is 50000.
Database: Name of the DB2 database.
ODBC Driver: Alteryx-managed IBM DB2 ODBC driver.
Credential Information

Limitations
Only Basic authentication is supported.
Existing connections and workflows are not automatically migrated to the new connector.
Existing IBM DB2 Connector
Alteryx One also provides an existing JDBC-based IBM DB2 connector. For information about that connector, see DB2 Connections.
