Search Packages
Use the global search bar in Alteryx One to search governed, production-ready analytics assets available in your workspace.
Packages are displayed in the search results based on the package lifecycle, promotion status, workspace, and your access permissions. This helps ensure that the search results surface consumable package assets without exposing promotion process artifacts or packages that are not yet available in a workspace.
Which packages appear in Global Search results?
Global search displays a package when it is created and searchable in your current workspace.
Packages appear in the search results in the following scenarios:
Packages in the Current Workspace
A package created in the current workspace appears in search results before you create a promotion request for it. This allows users in the workspace to find and access the package while it exists there as a package asset.
Packages in Destination Workspace
When a package is promoted to a destination workspace, it becomes searchable in that workspace after:
The promotion request is approved.
The package is created in the destination workspace.
Note
In both cases, the package must actually exist in a workspace to appear in search results. A package that exists only as an approval-in-progress item is not yet a searchable asset.
Select a package in the search results to open its package details page. From the package details page, you can review package information and perform the actions available to you based on your permissions.
What does not appear in Global Search results?

Note
A package created in your current workspace remains visible to you in that workspace's search results even while a promotion request for it is pending, rejected, or in review elsewhere. Visibility in the originating workspace is not affected by the state of a downstream promotion.
Workspace Access and Permissions
Global search results only display packages you have access to view or run. Existing workspace access and permission rules apply, so the search results never display assets outside your granted access.
