Generative AI within Auto Insights
Auto Insights' capabilities, including Magic Documents, Playbooks, and Reports, AI Assistant uses generative AI to generate dynamic content. These features connect to a large language model (LLM) – by default, this LLM is accessed via an Alteryx instance within Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services; however, you can instead use an LLM in your own Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services tenant.
LLMs other than Azure are not currently supported.
Enabling AI within Auto Insights
Unless explicitly disabled when provisioning your new Account, AI capabilities are enabled by default for all new workspaces. To review and adjust AI settings for your workspace, go to:
Go to your Profile menu and select Workspace Admin > Settings.
From the dropdown, select Auto Insights Settings.
You will be presented with the Auto Insights settings, including the AI settings.
All AI capabilities within Auto Insights can be enabled/disabled by the LLM Access toggle, and individual capabilities can be selectively enabled/disabled by their respective toggle.
The LLM can be selected via the LLM Provider and Model.
Using your own LLM for Auto Insights
To use your own LLM to power AI capabilities in Auto Insights, you will need to first configure a new Connection in Alteryx One.
To create a new LLM Connection:
From your Alteryx One account, go to the Connections page.
Select Create Connection. For details on connection creation, go to Create Connection Window.
You can use the Search bar to find your LLM or select LLMs to filter the list to only display available LLM connections.
Select Azure Open AI (only Azure Open AI is supported in Auto Insights at this time) and enter the configuration details.
Once you create the connection, you will be able to select a supported LLM via the Workspace Admin > Settings page within the LLM Provider and Model drop-down.

The minimum supported API version for Azure OpenAI LLM is 2023-12-01-preview.
The Alteryx team has performed extensive testing using the gpt-4o model, and recommends this or newer models.
重要
It's important that you share the LLM Connection with all other users who have access to Auto Insights, otherwise they will not be able to use any of the AI capabilities.
