Box

The Box connector lets you connect to Box tools in Designer. Box is available as a data source in the Input Data and Output Data tool.

Designer Version

  • 2025.1 Patch 5, 2025.2 Patch 3, 2026.1 or later.

  • File partitioning is available starting with 2025.2 Patch 5.

  • Workflow Migration tool is supported for 2025.2 Patch 3 or later.

Install the Connector

You can easily install the latest version of the Box connector from Designer via the Add-Ons. This is the recommended installation method that allows you to browse, install, and update connectors without leaving Designer or visiting the Alteryx Marketplace.

To install the connector…

  1. In Designer, go to Add-Ons > Manage Marketplace Add-Ons. You will see a list of available connectors.

  2. Select Box Tools Connector and select Install. Designer downloads and installs the package. Designer might require a restart to complete the installation.

  3. After installation and setup are complete, the Box connector is available from the Input Data and Output Data tools.

Set Up a Connection

To connect to Box connector using DCM...DCM - Designer

  1. Drag the Input Data or Output Data tool to the canvas, and select Connect to Data.

  2. In the Connector Setup, select Create or Browse a Data Connection.

    If you've created a Box connection before, you can select the connection from the Recents tab.

  3. Select + New. From the list of technologies, select Box.

  4. Select Quick Connect and then select Setup Connection. The Connections window opens.

  5. Select +New.

  6. Specify the connection name and the data source name.

  7. In the Credentials section, select your authentication method, enter the credential name, and specify the access token.

  8. Select Save.

  9. Select Connect. Box may request authentication.

  10. Select the file to read from or write to in the file browser window.

  11. Select the read or write configuration in the Options window.

  12. Select Confirm to create a connection to the file. You can continue building your workflow.

Registro a la aplicación Box

  1. Inicia sesión en https://alteryx.app.box.com/developers/console con tus credenciales de Box.

  2. Selecciona Crear nueva aplicación.

  3. Selecciona Aplicación personalizada.

  4. En Método de autenticación, selecciona Autenticación de usuario (OAuth 2.0). Ingresa el nombre de la aplicación y selecciona Crear aplicación.

  5. En la pestaña Configuración de Ámbitos de aplicación, selecciona Escribir todos los archivos y carpetas almacenados en Box para proporcionar permiso a la aplicación.

  6. Selecciona Guardar cambios.

  7. Para generar un nuevo token de desarrollador, selecciona Revocar y, a continuación, Generar token de desarrollador.

  8. Para la autenticación, puedes utilizar Id. de cliente y Secreto de cliente de Credenciales OAuth 2.0.

Configuración de una aplicación personalizada

Para evitar un problema de CORS en Box cuando se utiliza la aplicación con autenticación OAuth o Token de acceso y JWT, utiliza una configuración personalizada:

  1. Aplicación Box con autenticación OAuth:

    1. Agrega el URI de redirección https://cef.alteryx.com/designer/oauthcallback para resolver el problema de CORS de la ventana CEF.

TPM-5038

  • Fixed an issue where the Box connector version 2.5.7 failed with multiple Box Input tools on Server 25.1 when workflows run in parallel and returned the error Failed to find DCM connection values.

TPM-5006

  • Designer displays a clear warning message when users enter an invalid sheet number, sheet name, or sheet range.

  • The Box connector defaults Time and DateTime precision to milliseconds to avoid extra trailing zeros, while still supporting nanosecond resolution when required by the workflow.

  • Fixed an issue where newly created files in the Box tools inherit the previously selected filename when saved with any extension.

Herramientas de Alteryx utilizadas para establecer conexiones

Utiliza el conector de Box para ejecutar, programar y publicar flujos de trabajo desde Designer, con los archivos almacenados en tu espacio de trabajo de Box. Los tipos de archivo admitidos son XLSX, CSV e YXDB.

Atención

La automatización del escritorio (programador) no es compatible con este conector.

Administrador de conexiones de datos (DCM)

Las herramientas Box 2.5.0 y versiones posteriores son compatibles con el Administrador de conexiones de datos para almacenar tus credenciales con más facilidad y seguridad. Crea una conexión a Box y reutiliza con facilidad las credenciales almacenadas en los flujos de trabajo en los que se incluyen las herramientas Box. Alteryx Server requiere credenciales almacenadas para ejecutar los flujos de trabajo publicados correctamente.

Habilitar AMP Engine

Asegúrate de tener AMP Engine habilitado para los flujos de trabajo que contienen las herramientas Box 2.5.0 y versiones posteriores a fin de aprovechar todo el potencial de las capacidades de Designer.
