Area Chart

Use Area Chart to show changes in quantities over time.

Configure the Tool

Title

Configure how the title and subtitle of the chart display:

  1. Enter a Title.

  2. Select the Title Size. There are 4 heading options to choose from.

  3. Select the Horizontal Alignment:

    • Align Left: Align content with the left margin.

    • Center: Center content.

    • Align Right: Align content with the right margin.

  4. Enter a Subtitle.

  5. Select the Subtitle Size. There are 4 heading options to choose from.

  6. Select the Horizontal Alignment.

  7. Choose the colors for your chart in the Color section. For more information on the color choices and how to change your theme colors, see Themes in App Builder.

Value

Select the data to display in the chart:

  1. Select the X-Axis variable. Note that the x-axis can only plot numeric columns.

  2. Select the Y-Axis variable. Note that the y-axis can only plot numeric columns.

  3. Select a Series, if desired, which is an additional column to display more than one line in the chart.

  4. Enter an X-Axis Label and a Y-Axis Label.

  5. Invert Axes: Check this box to swap the position of the axes on the chart.

  6. Show Tooltips: Check this box to display tooltips which show information about the data in the chart.

  7. Sort Data by X-Axis: Check this box to sort the data by value.

Legend

Configure how the legend displays for your chart:

  1. Show Legend: When checked, the legend is displayed on your chart.

  2. Floating: When checked, the legend displays as a floating entity that can be moved.

  3. Select the Vertical Alignment.

  4. Select the Horizontal Alignment.
