Agent Studio

Agent Studio is your hub for creating and managing AI-powered analytic experiences. Use Agent Studio to create and manage Alteryx Agents, set up datasets, workflows, and apps before using them in Agent Studio or supported AI clients, and connect trusted Alteryx insights to supported external AI experiences.

What You Can Do in Agent Studio

Depending on your permissions, you can use Agent Studio to complete these tasks:

  • Create, edit, delete, share, and manage Alteryx Agents.

  • View agents you created or agents shared with you.

  • Chat with agents you can access.

  • Set up datasets, workflows, and apps before using them in Agent Studio or supported AI clients.

  • Find instructions and URLs for connecting supported AI apps and MCP clients to the Alteryx MCP Server.

  • Learn which supported external marketplace apps can access trusted Alteryx insights from external AI experiences, where available.

Choose Where to Go Next

  • Create, configure, test, share, and manage Alteryx Agents.

  • Use External Marketplace Apps to learn how supported external AI apps connect to trusted Alteryx insights.

  • Use the Alteryx MCP Server to connect external AI clients and understand available MCP toolsets.

  • Set Up Assets before using datasets, workflows, and apps in Agent Studio or supported AI clients.

External Marketplace Apps

Use external marketplace apps to access trusted Alteryx insights from supported external AI experiences. You can only access assets you have permission to use and that are set up for the connected experience.

Setup and authentication depend on the marketplace app. For app-specific setup details, go to External Marketplace Apps.

Access Controls

Agent Studio is available on Alteryx One Professional and Enterprise Editions.

Admins can manage access to Agent Studio in these ways:

  • Account Admins can enable or disable Agent Studio for the entire account. If it is disabled, Agent Studio is hidden for all users on the account.

  • To limit access to Agent Studio for individual users, Workspace Admins can assign users a custom role with the Agent Studio capability disabled. Learn more about user roles and capabilities.

  • To allow access to Agent Studio but not Alteryx Agents, Workspace Admins can assign users a custom role with Agent Studio enabled and AI Agent disabled. This allows users to manage external MCP connections and set up assets without access to Alteryx Agents.

  • To set up datasets, workflows, and apps for AI use, go to the Set Up Assets page.

Security

Traffic between external clients and Alteryx services is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or later. Within Alteryx One, service-to-service traffic is protected with mutual TLS where applicable.

Data is encrypted at rest. Encryption controls are tested as part of Alteryx ISO 27001 and SOC 2 audits.
