Overview

Alteryx One is a multi-tenant, multi-cloud SaaS solution for the development and deployment of data pipelines to deliver automated analytics to everyone in the enterprise. The homepage helps you get started with Alteryx One by launching applications, accessing workspaces, and using the modules to build data pipelines aligned with your goals. Depending on your workspace, the homepage is named Home or Overview.

When you sign in, you land in a workspace. Use the header to confirm your current workspace and access workspace options.

  • Identify your workspace: The workspace name appears in the header. Check this name to confirm where you are working.

  • Switch workspaces: To switch workspaces, open the workspace menu from the global app bar of the Alteryx One app, then select a different workspace.

  • Access workspace options: Use the links in the left navigation pane to access the Download & Activate, Workspace Admin, Account Admin, and Marketplace. This section also provides access to the Privacy Policy, EULA, and AI Terms of Service.

Get Started from Home with Ask Alteryx

If your homepage is named Home, it opens with Ask Alteryx. The page shows a welcome message and a box where you can describe what you want to do. From Home, you can:

  • Enter a request for Ask Alteryx, such as a question about Alteryx One or a description of the analysis you want.

  • Drag and drop a CSV or XLSX file onto the page, and then tell Ask Alteryx what you want to do with it.

  • Select one of the starter prompts below the box, for example to get an overview of Alteryx One.

If your homepage is named Overview, enter a request in the Ask Alteryx box at the top of the page, or select one of the suggestions below it, for example to get started or to build a workflow. The page also lists your Recent Assets. Select Go to Library to see all your assets.

Note

On the homepage of the browser version of Alteryx One, a banner prompts users to download the Alteryx One app for an enhanced experience. It provides a quick access point to install the Alteryx One app if it’s not already on your system. Select Download Desktop App to download and install the Alteryx One desktop app.

Left Navigation Pane

Use the left navigation pane to access key areas of the Alteryx One. The options available depend on your role, workspace configuration, and enabled capabilities.

Home or Overview

To return to the Alteryx One homepage, select Home or Overview in the left navigation pane, whichever name your homepage has.

Ask Alteryx

Use Ask Alteryx to ask questions about Alteryx One, find your data, and build and run workflows. If your homepage is named Home, Ask Alteryx is on the homepage, and your chats appear under Chats. If your homepage is named Overview, select Ask Alteryx in the left navigation pane.

Library

Select Library to view and manage your assets.

From the Library, you can…

  • Browse workflows, plans, apps, and reports.

  • Open or edit existing assets.

  • View assets shared with you.

Data

Select Data to go to the Datasets page.

Use this page to…

  • View available datasets.

  • Access data connections.

  • Use datasets in workflows or reports.

Schedules

Select Schedules to go to the Schedules page, where you can execute jobs on your assets in the Alteryx One.

Jobs

Select Jobs to monitor workflow and automation runs.

The Jobs page shows the status of running, completed, and failed jobs. For more details, go to Job History.

Modules

If your homepage is named Home, the modules are grouped under Modules. Select Modules to expand or collapse the list. To create a new asset, select + next to Modules, and then select the type of asset. For more information, go to Alteryx One Modules.

Chats

If your homepage is named Home, your Ask Alteryx chats appear under Chats. Select a chat to open it and continue. To start a new chat, select the new chat icon next to Chats. For more information, go to Ask Alteryx in Alteryx One.

Download & Activate

Select Download & Activate from the left navigation pane to access installers, updates, online unified license activation, offline activation, and other resources for setting up and maintaining Alteryx modules.

Note

The modules and versions available for download on the Download & Activate page depend on your account permissions. For more details, go to Restrict Product Downloads.

Marketplace

Select Marketplace from the left navigation pane to explore and install available add-ons.

Administration

The following administrative options appear in the left navigation pane if you have Admin access:

  • Account Admin: Select Account Admin to manage account-level settings.

  • Workspace Admin: Select Workspace Admin to manage workspace users, permissions, and configurations.

Search

Use the search in the app bar to find supported assets and resources across Alteryx One. Select the asset from the search results to open it in its associated module (Designer, Designer Cloud, Live Query).

Open Designer Assets from Browser

When you open a Designer asset from Alteryx One in the browser, the asset opens via the Alteryx One app. If you haven't installed the Alteryx One app, you must do so before you can successfully open a Designer asset from the browser.
