Overview

Alteryx One is a multi-tenant, multi-cloud SaaS solution for the development and deployment of data pipelines to deliver automated analytics to everyone in the enterprise. The Overview page (or, the homepage) helps you get started with Alteryx One by launching applications, accessing workspaces, and begin using the modules to build data pipelines aligned with your goals.

When you sign in, you land in a workspace. Use the header to confirm your current workspace and access workspace options.

  • Identify your workspace: The workspace name appears in the header. Check this name to confirm where you are working.

  • Switch workspaces: To switch workspaces, open the workspace menu from the global app bar of the Alteryx One app, then select a different workspace.

  • Access workspace options: Use the links in the left navigation pane to access the Download Center, Workspace Admin, Account Admin, and Marketplace. This section also provides access to the Privacy Policy, EULA, and AI Terms of Service.

Take Action

Use the following primary asset creation entry points on the Alteryx One homepage to begin using your data. Each new asset opens in a new browser tab.

New Workflow 

Select New Workflow to create a new asset in Designer:

  • In the browser version of Alteryx One, selecting New Workflow opens Designer Cloud.

  • In the Alteryx One app, selecting New Workflow opens Designer.

Use workflows to prepare, blend, and analyze data.

New Report 

Select New Report to create a new report in Auto Insights. Use reports to visualize insights and share results with others.

New Orchestration 

Select New Orchestration to create a new plan in Orchestrator. Use Orchestrator to orchestrate workflows and processes, manage and control how and when they execute across Alteryx.

Connect to Data

Select Connect to Data to open the Datasets page. The Datasets page displays the data available to you in your workspace, including datasets and connections. From here, you can:

  • Explore datasets.

  • Connect to new data sources.

  • Manage existing connections.

Note

Select + in the upper-left corner of the Alteryx One app to open the Create New tab. You can access this option from any page in the Alteryx One app. Use this tab to start a new workflow, report, or orchestration, connect to data, or access your recent assets. It helps you start new work or resume recent files from a single location.

Begin the Data Journey

Select the quick actions on the homepage that match what you want to accomplish. These actions reflect common tasks - such as preparing data or exploring trends - and help you start work without following a fixed sequence. Each option directs you to the corresponding application’s landing page within Alteryx One. From there, you can access and navigate through the complete module based on your role and permissions.

Alteryx Academy 

Hover over the Alteryx Academy action card and select Go to Alteryx Academy to access training resources. Develop your skills and expertise with hands-on Alteryx training.

Exploratory Analysis 

Hover over the Exploratory Analysis action card and select Explore Auto Insights to go to the Auto Insights page, where you can dig into your data to identify patterns and insights.

Prep & Cleanse Data 

Hover over the Prep & Cleanse Data action card and select Explore Designer to connect, prepare, and blend raw data from multiple sources.

Depending on your environment, this opens Designer Cloud or Designer.

Orchestrate & Automate 

Hover over Orchestrate & Automate action card and select Explore Orchestrator to orchestrate workflows and tasks to manage execution. This opens Orchestrator, where you can create plans. Use Orchestrator to orchestrate workflows and processes to control how and when they execute across Alteryx.

Visualize & Report 

Hover over Visualize & Report action card and select Explore Auto Insights to open the Auto Insights page, where you can turn data into visual insights for analysis and share insights with stakeholders.

Note

On the homepage of the browser version of Alteryx One, a banner prompts users to download the Alteryx One app for an enhanced experience. It provides a quick access point to install the Alteryx One app if it’s not already on your system. Click Download Desktop App to download and install the Alteryx One desktop app.

Left Navigation Pane

Use the left navigation pane to access key areas of the Alteryx One. The options available depend on your role, workspace configuration, and enabled capabilities.

Overview 

Select Overview to return to the Alteryx One homepage. The homepage provides quick access to common actions, recent assets, and analytics tasks.

Library 

Select Library to view and manage your assets.

From the Library, you can…

  • Browse workflows, plans, apps, and reports.

  • Open or edit existing assets.

  • View assets shared with you.

Data 

Select Data to go to the Datasets page.

Use this page to…

  • View available datasets.

  • Access data connections.

  • Use datasets in workflows or reports.

Schedules 

Select Schedules to go to the Schedules page, where you can execute jobs on your assets in the Alteryx One.

Jobs 

Select Jobs to monitor workflow and automation runs.

The Jobs page shows the status of running, completed, and failed jobs. For more details, go to Job History.

Download Center

Select Download Center from the left navigation pane to access installers, updates, online unified license activation, offline activation, and other resources for setting up and maintaining Alteryx modules.

Marketplace

Select Marketplace from the left navigation pane to explore and install available add-ons.

Administration

The following administrative options appear in the left navigation pane if you have Admin access:

  • Account Admin: Select Account Admin to manage account-level settings.

  • Workspace Admin: Select Workspace Admin to manage workspace users, permissions, and configurations.
