Jobs
Use the Jobs tab in Alteryx One Platform to monitor workflow and automation runs across your Alteryx One workspace. From this page, you can check job status, find specific job runs, review who ran a job, and open job outputs or job details for further investigation. The Job history page tracks the status of jobs and Plan runs, including Designer Cloud workflow jobs, Designer Desktop Workspace Execution jobs, Flow jobs, Orchestrator Plans, and sample jobs.
Select Job Source
Use the Jobs selector to switch to the job source you want to review. The selected source controls which jobs appear in the list.
Designer Cloud: Workflow jobs run in Designer Cloud.
Important
When you run a workflow, Designer Cloud runs an initial validation step to ensure there are no configuration errors. If this validation step fails, the workflow shows an error and doesn't run. Note that Alteryx One won't track this workflow job on the Jobs page.
Designer Desktop: Workspace Execution jobs.
Orchestrator: These jobs execute a sequence of tasks. For more information, go to Plan Runs
Sample Jobs: For more information on sampling jobs, go to Sample Jobs.
Review Job Runs
The Jobs list shows a row for each job run. Each row can include:
Status: The current or final state of the job. Includes Running, Success, Canceled, and Failure.
Job ID: A unique job identifier. Select the job ID to open the job details.
Asset: The asset associated with the job. Depending on where the asset is located, you can select it to open it in the associated app.
Type: The type of job run. Includes Manual, Ran By API, Ran by Plan, and Scheduled.
Ran By: The user who ran the job.
Completed: The completion date and time, plus the run duration.
Output: The number of outputs available for the job, when outputs exist. If applicable, select the output to view its location or download the file.
Filter Jobs
Use All Jobs to view all available jobs for the selected area. Use Ran By Me to show only jobs that you ran. Job visibility can depend on the assets you own or can access.
Select Filter to narrow the Jobs list. Filtering helps you find specific jobs, such as failed jobs, jobs for a specific asset, scheduled jobs, or jobs run by a specific user.
You can filter by:
Status: Select from Running, Success, Canceled, and Failure.
Asset Name: Select a specific asset from the list to view all the jobs associated with that asset.
Run Type: Select from Manual, Ran by API, Ran by Plan, and Scheduled.
Ran By: Select users to view all the jobs run by them.
Open Job Details and Outputs
Select a Job ID to explore more information about a job. The Job Details page can include job status, sources, run metadata, outputs, dependency information, and other job-specific details.
For successful jobs, you can review the generated outputs from the job details experience. Depending on the job and your permissions, available output actions can include viewing output details, downloading results, creating an imported dataset, or publishing results.
Use Row Actions
Use the row context (3-dot) menu to view actions available for a specific job. You can cancel a job that is currently running and delete a job.
Available actions can depend on job status, running environment, and permissions. For example, Cancel Job is relevant only for jobs that are still in progress, and it might not be available in all running environments.
