Asset Types
The Alteryx One asset library serves as a centralized repository for folders, workflows, macros, analytic apps, plans, reports, and packaged assets within the Alteryx One platform. The library is designed to help you organize, search, filter, and manage shared analytical content across teams and projects.
Review this page for additional information about the various asset types that you might encounter in the Alteryx One Library.
Folder
Folders allow you to combine multiple asset types in a single location, and permissions control access to those folders. You can only view and interact with folders you have access to. For more information, go to Folders.
Designer Assets
Note
This option is available if you've enabled Workspace Execution in your workspace.
Designer assets include workflows (YXMD), macros (YXMC), analytic apps (YXWZ), and workflow packages (YXZP). For more information about Designer assets, go to Alteryx Workflow Files. To view a list of your current Designer desktop assets in the library, follow these steps:
Select the filter (funnel) icon and select Asset Type.
Select Designer to include all Designer assets (workflows, macros, analytic apps, packages) or select the asset types individually.
You can Run*, Schedule*, or Delete (among other options) a desktop workflow from the 3-dot menu.
Run, Schedule, and Orchestrator Compatibility
*To run or schedule your Designer workflow with Workspace Execution in Alteryx One, you must save it as a Workflow Package (YXZP).
This requirement also applies if you want to use Designer workflows in Orchestrator.
Designer Desktop Workflow Sharing
You can share your desktop workflows with other members of your workspace. To share a workflow, select Share from the 3-dot menu and then select other users from the dropdown. Invited members receive an email notification. Note that workflow sharing includes any related Schedules for that workflow.
To remove access to a shared workflow, open the Share dialog, select the dropdown next to the user, and then select Remove.
Important
An admin must enable Desktop Workflow Sharing on the Workspace Settings page from the Workspace Admin Console.
Alteryx One does not support Desktop workflow sharing with DCM at this time.
Designer Desktop Workflow Import and Export
If you are a member of multiple workspaces, you can export a desktop workflow from 1 workspace and import it to another workspace.
To export a workflow, select Download from the 3-dot menu to store it locally on your computer.
To import a workflow to another workspace, select Upload on the Library page and then select an exported workflow. For imported workflows, ensure you update any dataset dependencies required for the workflow to run successfully.
Important
You must be assigned a Role that has Author privileges for Workflows to import a workflow. Go to the Roles Page to learn more.

Important
An admin must enable Cloud Workflow Sharing on the Workspace Settings page from the Workspace Admin Console.
The Consumer role doesn't allow workflow sharing, while other users can share workflows with Consumers. Go to the Roles Page to learn more.
Caution
Do not modify the cloud workflow JSON file. This might cause unexpected errors upon import.
