Version Updates
Alteryx can check whether your Designer version is up to date. If there is a Designer update available, you will be notified according to the preference you set.
Auto Check
If you are connected to the internet, Alteryx checks for a newer version each time it launches. If a newer version is available, a message appears at the top of the user interface with a Click here for options link. Options include...
Go to Download Site: The Alteryx Downloads and Licenses portal opens in a browser window. Sign in to download the latest version.
Hide until next run: The message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx. Once a new instance is launched, the message reappears.
Hide this for 1 days: The message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx and reappears when Alteryx is launched on the next calendar day.
Hide this for 7 days: The message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx and reappears when Alteryx is launched 7 calendar days from the current day.
Hide this for 30 days: The message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx and reappears when Alteryx is launched 30 calendar days from the current day.
Hide this for 90 days: The message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx and reappears when Alteryx is launched 90 calendar days from the current day.
Hide this for 1 year: The message disappears during the active instance of Alteryx and reappears when Alteryx is launched 1 calendar year from the current day.
If you are running a Beta version, the only "Hide" option is Hide until next run.
Manual Check
To check for an update at any time, go to Help > Check for Updates. This feature requires an internet connection. One of 3 messages is returned:
A newer version of Alteryx Designer is available. Select Click here for options to hide the message or go to the download site.
Go to download site: The Alteryx Downloads and Licenses portal opens in a browser window. Sign in to download the latest version.
Hide the notification message until the next run or for 1, 7, or 30 days.
x: Closes the message.
This Version of Alteryx is up to date. Select the x icon to close the message.
Unable to connect to the remote server. This means you are not connected to the internet and can't use this feature.
