Language and Locale

Server is now available in 8 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, simplified Chinese, and Italian.

At First Install

When you first install Server, Server will recognize your browser’s language and open Server in that language if supported. If you are using an unsupported language, Server will default to English.

Note

  • When an admin user changes the Server UI language from English to another language, the Email Notifications Actions List remains in English.

  • When Alteryx Server is installed on a Windows system with a non-English locale, the Email Notifications Actions List remains in that locale—even if the Server UI language is changed to English.

  • The language used in email notifications is determined by the data stored in the database at the time of installation, not by the language selected in Server Settings. As a result, if the Server is installed on a system with a locale that Alteryx Server does not officially support, email notifications might still appear in that unsupported language.

Configure Language and Locale

To learn how to configure Server to display the user interface in a different language and locale, go to the My Profile help page.

The language and locale preferences will update Server UI and Admin pages.

Version Upgrades

Once you have selected a language and locale preference in Server’s Profile settings, it will persist and always display Server in that language and regional formatting.

Note

Some messages coming from the backend are displayed in English regardless of user language preferences.

Alteryx System Settings to configure Server are always in English and are not localized.
