Use the Image Input tool to bring in images to Designer.

Alteryx Intelligence Suite Required

This tool is part of Alteryx Intelligence Suite. Intelligence Suite requires a separate license and add-on installer to Designer. After you install Designer, install Intelligence Suite and start your free trial.

Important

The PDF Input tool has been renamed to the Image Input tool as of version 2021.3.

Tool Components

Image Input has 2 anchors:

  • Input anchor: Use the input anchor to enter the path of the folder that contains images you want to bring into Designer.

  • Output anchor: Use the output anchor to pass the images you've brought in downstream.

Configure the Tool

  1. Add Image Input to the canvas.

  2. Use the input anchor to connect the tool to data that contains the path of the folder where your images are. You can also browse for the folder or enter its path in the field we provide.

  3. Choose whether you want the tool to Input All File Types or Only Include Specific File Types. If you choose to bring in all files types, the tool brings in all supported file types. If you choose to only bring in specific file types, you have to select File Types to include:

    • BMP

    • JPEG

    • PDF

    • PNG

  4. Run the workflow.

Important

To rotate an image, use the Alignment step in the Image Processing tool. If you rotate an image in Windows (for example, with the Photos application), downstream tools might not recognize the rotation.
