Adjust Memory Settings

When Alteryx Connect is installed, the memory settings for the embedded Java server are set according to the detected amount of RAM on the server. If the amount of RAM is changed after Alteryx Connect is installed, you must modify the Java memory settings. By default, Java uses 60% of the total OS memory.

Change the Java Memory Settings

  1. On the Alteryx Connect server, run cmd.exe as an administrator.

  2. Change to the <installation_path>\bin directory.

    The default installation path is C:\Program Files\AlteryxConnect.

  3. Execute the following command:

    tomcat9w.exe //ES//AlteryxConnect

  4. In the Alteryx Connect Properties window, select the Java tab.

  5. Update the memory settings.

  6. Select Apply and close the window.

  7. Restart the Alteryx Connect Service to apply the new settings:

    1. Open the Windows Task Manager.

    2. Select the Services tab.

    3. Select Services.

    4. In the list of services, select Alteryx Connect.

    5. Select Restart.
