Power Automate Icon Power Automate Tool

Power Automate allows you to run flows on incoming data and pass the processed data to other tools in Designer. See Microsoft Power Automate for more information.

To maintain full functionality of the Power Automate data connector, pay attention to compatibility with Designer.

Designer version 2021.4 and later.

Important

This tool is not automatically installed with Designer. To use this tool, download it from Alteryx Community.

Sign In to Power Automate

You can sign in via browser, or using your Client ID, Client Secret and Tenant ID.

To schedule your workflows on Server, you need to select Enter Client ID and Tenant ID and enter your authentication info. Go to Custom API Application Setup for more information on how to create an API application.Custom API Application Setup

Sign in via Internet Browser

  1. In Authentication Method, select Sign in via Internet Browser.

  2. Select Connect.

  3. Enter your credentials and sign in.

Enter Client ID and Tenant ID

  1. In Authentication Method, select Enter Client ID and Tenant ID.

  2. Enter Client ID, Client Secret and Tenant ID.

  3. Select Connect.

  4. Enter your credentials and sign in.

Configure the Tool

Use these options to configure the tool:

Select a Flow

  • From My Flows: Search for a flow by name or select a flow in a tree view.

  • By Field: Select a field with a list of flow IDs.

Select Parameters

In the Parameters tab, you can choose input parameters in case your flow requires them. You can enter custom values or read the parameters from a field.

Configure Output

  • Wait for Results: You can wait for the process to finish saving the output to JSON, which can take a long time. If you select Yes, enter Max Wait Time in minutes and Check Results Every in seconds.
