The Support File includes this information:

  • System Information

  • Environment Variables

  • Designer System Information

  • ODBC Drivers and Versions

  • Internet Option Settings

  • Alteryx.config File

  • Connector Versions

Generate Support File from Designer

To generate a support file...

  1. In Designer, go to Help > Generate Support File.

  2. Next, choose the location where you want to save the file.

It can take about a minute for the file to compile. While the file is compiling, there is a mouse busy indicator and the Designer header might display a not responding message. This is expected behavior.

Once the file is ready, make sure to review the contents of the support file and remove any information that you don’t want to include before you send the file to our team.

Generate Support File with Command Line

You can also generate the support file via the command line. Use this command:

AlteryxGui.exe /supportfile <path> where <path> indicates the location where you want to save the file.
